Founded in 1908, Spearville State Bank was formed by J. M. Leidigh, his son J.H. Leidigh and a handful of local investors. Four years later in 1912, stockholders passed a resolution to convert Spearville State Bank into a national bank. In February of that year the bank became what is now known and still in existence today as First National Bank of Spearville. Throughout many generations of the Leidigh family, First National Bank has continued throughout the years as a locally owned bank. However, in August of 2006 the bank was purchased from the Leidigh estate by the Spearville Bancshares which is a group of local investors. Employees and stockholders of FNB have never lost sight of its mission: we are committed to providing the highest quality of customer service and fulfilling the financial needs of our customers. FNB understands that you, the community, is what has helped our bank grow to its present status today. So we would like to take this opportunity to say hats off to you and thanks for continuing to stand by First National Bank of Spearville.
